#Spotlight Post ~ Aura

Hi Everyone,

My name is Joanna Ritchie,
I run my own jewellery business called Aura from my studio in Northern Ireland.
All of my creations are designed and made by myself.
I try to create a collection of jewellery & accessories that is unique and vibrant,
something a bit different to what you would normally see.

I have always had an interest in jewellery,
from a young age I would experiment in creating pieces for friends and family.
At school and university my passion was always Art & Design
but it wasn’t until after I graduated from my degree in Product Design,
that I reignited my interest in jewellery making.
In 2007 I decided to take the plunge and set up my own business,
using my skills from my degree to create unique handmade jewellery designs.

Since starting my business in 2007,
I have developed my own individual style of jewellery and accessories.
I have created collections for everyday fashion wear and also for bridal wear.
I am constantly evolving my brand of jewellery taking into consideration fashion trends, colours
and experimenting with new materials to create something new and exciting for my customers.
Recently I have become a member of a fashion collective, Unify based in Belfast.
It involves working with local fashion designers to create looks for fashion shows and events.
It is a really exciting and different area of design to work in,
and is amazing to watch the final completed look on the models at the catwalk shows.

My plans for the future are to continue creating new and unique designs.
I also hope to grow my business online.
At the moment I sell my work at local craft fairs,
and on my website, facebook page and Etsy shop,
but I would like to expand and reach out to new customers all over the world.

I also hope to expand both my fashion and bridal collections
and work alongside more fashion designers to create bespoke looks.
To keep up to date with my latest designs and events that I am involved in,
you can subscribe to my Facebook and Twitter pages:

Lastly I would just like to thank Sue for giving me this opportunity to write this blog
and tell you all about my business and the work that I do.

Thank you ever so much Joanna.
Your work is amazing!!!!
I hope you'll all join me in thanking Joanna
