I've Made Friday Week 166

Good Morning everyone!
I hope your week is going well.
I hope you are looking forward to the weekend.

I am super excited!!!!!
I couldn't wait for this post.

I've finished my blanket

It's not perfect.
I really need to blog it.
But I love it.
It's on my favorite chair in the conservatory
so I can sit and crochet in comfort :-)

I haven't got anything else finished this
week but I don't mind.

We are currently getting ready for
Red Monster going back to school.
His feet have been measured and as expected
his feet have grown again.
He's now in a 3 1/2 (UK)
I'm a size 5 so it won't be long before
he fits in my shoes.

Now it's time for linky love.
Please feel free to share anything you've made.
  • Please visit other people to see what they have made.
  • Add the link to here on your blog so we can share the linky love.
  • I will try and visit as many people as possible.
  • I will reply to all comments as soon as I can

What You Doing Wednesday Week 165

Good Morning Everyone!
I hope your week is going well!

I am super happy this week!
My blanket (afghan)
is well on the road to being finished :-)

All the squares are made, edged
& the ends all sewn in.
It's onto the joining next :-).

This has made me super happy
as it now starts to be a real blanket
and not just squares.
I am loving the colours and loving the yarn.
It's super soft and it is made so it won't bobble as much.

Things are really good at the moment.
Red Monster is working hard
and doing a small amount of work each day.
We are spending time in the garden
and in the sun (when it's out).
The break of him going to Granny & Grandad's
has been a real help.
He also had a fantastic time.

I'm still reading the same book.
I am hoping to get some more time this
weekend to get some reading done.
The rain in on the way so it will
mean a bit more time inside.

I went to the Physio this week.
She tried some other taping as I am having a bad reaction
to the other tape.

We are going to see if this works.
It's frustrating because
I know if they manipulated my pelvis
so it sits correctly then I wouldn't
have any issues with my knees.
I think I might see if there is a local osteopath t
hat I can go and see.

Now it's your turn to share what you are doing.
It doesn't have to be crochet, anything you are making
is perfect.
Please add the pin to your post & check out a couple
of other people that are sharing their work

Publication Date: 15 July 2015
RRP: £15.99

Available direct from Quarto Knows

Who knew cardboard could be so exciting!!

This book is amazing.

The book is jam packed full of amazing cardboard designs.
The creations are from all around the world
and are of an amazing array.

Each of the artists featured
use cardboard in different amazing
ways to create the most amazing
pieces of art and sculpture.

I just can't express how much is
jam packed into this book.
I just couldn't believe so many
beautiful things could be created
by cardboard.

You can't help being inspired!
It just wants you want to make something amazing yourself.

The thing that fascinated me the most
was the different amazing looks each
artist has.
Considering they are using the same
material it's amazing the different things they make.

The other brilliant thing about the book
is not only can it inspire you,
it gives you instructions to make you
a number of things.

I love both the boat and the table.
I think they are fantastic and seem really easy to make.

I cannot even begin to show a small percentage
of the amazing designs in this book.
It's one of those books that you can keep on your table
and everyone will pick it up and be amazed.

If you want to start making
things with cardboard
then this book is a good place to start.

The book gives you so much to make yourself
and also gives you so many ideas it will keep
you busy for a long time.

I love the picture frames and flowers.
I think they look amazing!
I would love to try making one of these frames!

Have you ever worked with cardboard?
If you are thinking about trying or you
just want to look at some amazing
pieces then this book would be a fantastic buy.

You can purchase the book direct from

I don't know whether you are aware or not but this is the 2nd book
in the Edward's Menagerie series.

The 2nd book is even more amazing than the 1st.
The brilliant thing is the book is designed

  40. MARGOT the Swan

I know an amazing 40 patterns.
The other amazing thing is each of them
has patterns for four different sizes.
That means the book is packed full of 160 patterns!
WOW!

The book is split into 3 sections.
Each of the sections hold a different level
of pattern.
This means you can easily define and find
which patterns are suitable for your
level of crocheting.

There are some standard forms that
are used throughtout the book.
These mean each of the designs
have a similar theme but the individual
parts of the patterns make their own
personalities.

The stork has to be my favorite!
I am going to make one for my son.
I just can't decide which one to make for my niece.

The other amazing fantastic thing is
if you buy the pdf book from the Toft Shop
you get an extra 10 Patterns

Each of the patterns are clear and easy to understand.
Each part is made separately and then joined.

At the start of each pattern to get an introduction
to the bird.
Each has it's own name, history and personality.
The colours that Toft now stock are beautiful
and make a great addition to the designs.

Now comes the fun part!
