Runway Crochet High-style Patterns from Top Designers' Hooks to Yours
Runway Crochet:
High-Style Patterns from top designers' hooks to yours
by Margaret Hubert
ISBN: 9781589237490
Publication Date: 1 May 2013
RRP: £16.99

Crochet has become more and more popular.
This is highly evident on the runway.
Most of the big designers are now turning to crochet
to give them that high end high impact fashion look.
Now you can create that look yourself at a fraction of the cost.

Margaret hopes to bring the accessibility of crochet to you
and uses a variety of styles and complexity levels
to bring that unique look to your wardrobe.

The book is separated into sections:
Sweaters & Jackets
Dresses & Skirts
Fashion Accents

With 21 patterns you've loads of projects to get started on.
Each of the patterns has the high impact look of a runway project.

Some of the patterns are quite challenging but I think that makes
the book all that more interesting.
Giving you that challenge expands your skills as well as your wardrobe.

Not only do you get an overall picture of the project you also
get different close up shots showing off the stitches and important shaping
of different items.

I love the fact that you can easily see how you can use the item
with other clothing to really dress up a look.

Not all the patterns are in all sizes.
All the patterns seem to be available in size medium
but the rest of the sizes vary depending on the pattern.
The sizes vary from:
small, large & extra large.

The patterns are in written and chart format.

Sizing charts are also provided to make it easier to block to size.

If you are looking for that something special to make
or just something to brighten up a piece of clothing
then I am sure you'll find this book very interesting.

I don't think this book would be suitable for a beginner
but if you are a confident crocheter then I am sure
you will be very busy :-)

Overall this is an amazing book that brings together different
designs using crochet in an imaginative way.
The effects of the yarn and stitches give high impact and are sure
to get you noticed.
All of your friends will be wanting you to make them some of the fantastic projects.

I received the book to review.

  1. What a truly interesting crochet book. I would say there's something for just about everyone here. Looks like moderate difficulty. Sometimes the "large" I find Medium in sizing. Great that they offer written, diagrams, and overall layouts! Something I will consider for the future. Thanks for the review share!
