What You Doing Wednesday Week 97

I hope your week is going well!

Sorry for the post being later than normal.
Things have been going on in the background
that have finally impacted on my blogging.
I have been losing the use of my limbs due to pain.
First it started in my left arm and I couldn't move it
without the pain making me sick.
Once that cleared I was relieved to only find a few weeks later
that I had the same problem in the right arm.
New medication cleared it after about 4 days
but yet again it was short lived.
This time it was my right ankle.
My left leg is my weak leg and I have to use a walking stick.
To then have a problem with my right leg was devastating.
I'm on new medication and touch wood it's helping.
I hadn't slept for a few nights due to the severe pain but
now it relaxes me and the muscles enough so I can sleep.
It's amazing how much easier it is to deal with pain when you've slept.

I have had to make a lot of decisions and a lot of decisions are up in the air.
I haven't been able to work for a few years now
but I have to face up to the fact that I can't try and behave "normally"
and it not impact on my health.
I am still going to blog but it is purely for fun.
I can't go out anymore due to my illness. Walking is difficult
and I can't drive anywhere.
So blogging and the internet is my lifeline
to the outside world.
I'll still be posting and I'll do as much as I can in advance
so on the days where I'm worse I can just relax.
I may not be able to reply to all your wonderful comments
but I love to read them!

I want to say a huge thank you for all of you being here.
Just knowing you are there makes a huge difference.

Anyway enough about that!
I've got some fun things I've been doing lately.

I'm learning to Knook.
I am really enjoying it and I'm already making myself
a pair of fingerless gloves for myself.
I know some people have said what is the point.
The point is someone who struggles with knitting and
can crochet can now knit!
I've got so many things I want to make. It's got me so excited!!!!

I'm loom knitting a scarf.
Little Red wanted to make it but then decided it would
be better if mummy made it.

I am also designing a little bunny rabbit.
Red Heart is finally more available in the UK
and I am super excited by it.
I love the mix of colours and I hope you'll like her
once I've finished.

The Halo Effect by M.J.Rose
I am really enjoying it and can't wait to review it for you.

Now it's your turn to share what you are doing.
It doesn't have to be crochet, anything you are making
is perfect.
Please add the pin to your post & check out a couple

  1. Oh I hope your feeling better soon. I've had a bad back for years and have had to acknowledge that there are things that I just shouldn't do in order avoid pain. I have never heard of Knook I am going to have to check that out. The loom knitted scarf looks so soft. Have a good day.

  5. Susan, thank you for being brave enough to share your struggles. One thing I've found with the crochet community is that we're comprised of some of the most lovely people. My positive thoughts go out to you for health and the ability to walk, crochet, etc without pain. You are certainly not alone with the lot of us around you. Your projects, as always, are wonderful. Thank you for the linky love!
