Wow what a fantastic trip to Blackpool Sea Life Centre

We decided to visit Blackpool Sea Life Centre with Granny & Grandad this week.

Little Red took along Snot the Zombie as he didn't want him to miss the visit.

It was a beautiful day and we had so much fun.

There were 2 down sides about the visit.
The pictures aren't brilliant as you aren't allowed to use flash with your camera.
The flash can upset the fish and my camera isn't fantastic in the low light.
So sorry in advance for the pictures.
The other down side is they have a fantastic book for children to answer
and a scratch card answer sheet.
It wasn't very well explained so we started off spending ages looking for the answers.
For the book the answers are on the board where you get the stamp.
For the scratch card you look for the questions on the tanks and then scratch out
to see what the answers where.
When you have a camera, walking stick and questions it's a bit awkward when you aren't
sure what you are doing.
Once we figured it out it was fun.
The other thing is if the stamp isn't working there will be a member of staff
about with a stick instead.

Now to the visit.
When you walk in it's all dark with the light coming from the fish tanks.
The first place you get to visit is the touch tank.
In here you can touch everything from star fish to crabs to shells.
It's such good fun but a bit cold.
Little Red was a scaredy cat and chickened out.

Then it's off round the fish tanks.
The whole place is set-up like an old ship.
They have everything from wave tanks to tanks with
mermaid purses in with live baby fish
growing in them.
There is so much to see. So many different fish, sea anemone and crustaceans.
Little Red loved showing Snot them
Little Red's favorite the Sting Ray
They even have an amazon area that even has smoke in the atmosphere.
Little Red loved the piranhas.
They also have a shark tank that goes over your head.
It's not a full day out but it's a fun couple of hours.
If you buy your tickets online you also get a 10% discount.

Little Red really enjoyed himself!
I think snot did as well.
All the kids that saw him loved him as well :-)

  1. First thing-this is my comment on your blog regarding the book giveaway. My favorite pattern of yours is the basket weave handbag. I hope this is the right place to leave this message.
Second, it looks like you had fun at the aquarium.
